I have found teacher evaluations down here in Dysart to be a very
unfair process. It is extremely "political". I saw teachers that
were horrible get glowing recommendations simply because they were
part of the "in" crowd. I know of two master teachers in other states
that came to AZ and were treated like dirt. Also what is to stop an
administrator from lowering the salaries of those teachers that get
paid a fair wage. I know of adminstrators that were out to get rid of
the teachers they did not like. The evaluations done had no bearing
on the actual ability of the teacher to teach.
