Hey NewTeach
The job market is very hard throughout CT from what I know. I
know people who have been searching for a permanent teaching
position for 5+ years (this is is elem. ed.) and many others
have just given up!
Thsi will be the third summer I have looked for a permanent
position (I ended up doing long-term subbing or tutoring to
make ends meet) and this summer has been the worst yet! I
have had a total of 2 interviews and probably sent out about a
dozen or so applications.
As for the BEST, I was told that they (the state) are
modifying it because of so many complaints about how it used
to be. Don't know when the changes will be implemented though.
BTW - I'm in Hartford County and and have been searching
basically throughout the state with no luck.
