Not to discourage you, but there is an oversupply of elementary teachers in CT. Since your son lives in NY, is he applying for positions in Fairfield County? The job market there is extremely competitive. If so, he should definitely expand his search to other areas. Has he considered urban districts? Many teachers are nervous about working in cities, but it can be extremely rewarding. I work in New Haven and love it! Many of our schools are filling classroom positions for the fall right now.
