I agree Sue! Very well said...
No, the problem isn't the teachers per se... however, a lot of these
underperforming schools end up with vacancies because their teachers go on
to positions in other institutions. This means these vacancies are filled by
inexperienced teachers. NOT to say that these inexperienced teachers will
not become wonderful teachers, however when children of these populations,
it is definitely beneficial to have a teacher who has had a lot of
experience in teaching strategies, classroom management, remediation, etc...
We can't just push aside certain populations. EVERY student deserves the
right to an education.
You may not like what the district is doing, but there definitely is a
reason behind it (if I have to point it out, it's to benefit the students!)
