My advice would be to take the middle grades integrated test.
There is also a test for math 6-12. The integrated test is
the more general of the two and will open doors for you to
teach any subject in grades 5-9. The specific subject area
tests tend to be much more difficult and are of course for one
area. There are study guides that may be found at any local
library for subject area exams or you can purchase them at
bookstores (I wouldn't purchase them). I would also suggest
checking out a few books to refresh your math knowledge if it
has been a while. If you google it, there are a few online
practices for some subject areas.
So with all of that being said...here's what I would do... 1.
Go to the FL DOE website and decide which exam you are most
interested in. 2. Get a Subject Area Exam (SAE) book and use
it as a guideline 3. Get other high school level books to
refresh your knowledge in areas where that is needed. Use the
tests and practice tests in these books. 4. Register for the
test that you are interested in.
