Illinois teacher looking to relocate to Florida. Will there be Elementary teaching positions available for the 2013- 2014? If, so in what part of Florida?
PB Teacher It's bleak here. many districts are laying off teachers.

sp Hillsborough County (tampa area), always has positions because it's such a large school district. That being said, Florida is not exactly a pleasant place to be a teacher(that's putting it mildly). I moved down from PA 2 years aga(I taught there as well). I'm already trying to get out of teaching after teaching down here for 2 years.

Scooby Linda: STAY where you are or you will be sorely disappointed to become a teacher in FL! Sunshine and milder temperatures wear off after awhile, revealing a state where teachers (and other public service employees) are degraded, demoralized and just plain treated like dirt by our governor and legislature.
