I'm a Sped/Interrelated teacher who taught in a Title I school in GA. I might like to move to Florida. I graduated from USF a few decades ago, but BA was in something other than Ed. (got a post bacc. teacher certificate to change careers a few years ago).

How challenging are the behaviors in the Hillsborough schools? Where I taught, the students were largely not socialized and, often, disrespectful to white teachers -- which made the experience more tiring that it was worth.

htdcd Don't teach in Florida - education in this state is a joke. They've taken away of tenure, poor pay, teachers are not respected, etc. Stay in GA - I've heard better things about that state's education. former USFBull Thank you everyone for your responses. The other option mightbe to work in a private school. However, that is fraught with subjectivity, more so than the public schools.

That is no conincidence. The wealthy want the rest of us to be peasants. The policies of FL favor the 1%.
