inellas County school officials are investigating parents' claims that a new St. Petersburg charter school is kicking out students with behavior issues.

Members of the School Board and community also have raised concerns about teachers quitting in the opening weeks of University Preparatory Academy's first school year.

anon There is no such thing as a "public" charter school. They are private schools that siphon off taxpayer dollars.

elective The problem with this is that this will only be a local story.

But let a public school teacher or school in general do something crazy, and it will be in the national news.

Catlyn I would bet money that lobbyists will payoff the TeaParty legislature to UNHOOK Charter Schools from the local school boards and they will say they will be monitored by the State Education Dept...then they will cut the budget of that department so monitoring cannot occur and they will get their money to operate directly from Scott.
