Now, again, we have adopted another "new" model. I've been silent for too long. Confusion sets in at Miami-Dade as ETO creeps into the schools. Teach a concept in a few minutes using "gradual release model." Low performing/Title 1 students (in general) need more practice and more than a few minutes of "gradual release" to grasp concepts. Additionally, guided by "coaches" who know NOTHING themselves. Teachers are forced to give highest ratings to ETO staff and coaches, or risk being reported to the principal. Teachers are given a review sheet and it must be completed in the presence of the coach and/or ETO staffmember. Keep your job=highest rating on survey! That's the modus operandi of the Miami-Dade Schools ETO. In "low performing" and Title 1 schools, "low" and "high" students are seated together, even during tests, low students copy from high students, data gives appearance of "making gains."
