The state of Florida could not have done a better job of setting up educators to FAIL this year, than if they did it deliberately. The new AIR testing has many of us very concerned as to how well our students will do on it. The FSA writing test is so very different than what our kids are used to doing, but we struggle along, hoping that somehow citing texts and making counter-claims will sink in. I know the math teachers at my school are freaking out about the FSA for middle school math. To top it all off, our school district (Polk)has not made smart decisions this year, either. Since our district's file servers were decrepit and ready to die, the board decided to buy a line of pure manure from a major software company and have ou...See More

neighbor to the north of you haven't had as many years, and have loved teaching. but only have one more year to go - can't happen fast enough. legislators and the feds have worked hard to create an uneducated, non-thinking, lead-by-the nose constituency. this latest guaranteed to fail test is one more nail in the academic coffin of our students.

I agree with common core being govt led. I disagree with
money doesn't buy a good education. That's why I don't
think education for profit is a good idea.

Scooby Thanks for your response, 'Neighbor to the north.' Between the politicians who make promises on our backs, and students who don't care about their education, the next ten weeks of school won't move fast enough for me. The future of our nation is worrisome, to say the least. -Scooby
