Re: Great News For Georgia NBCTs...

Thank you Cyn, I was getting ready to write a response to all
these previous posts. Yes, education is important to us, but
let's face it - we have two wars going on right now which may
very well spill in to other areas. If you have loved ones
fighting right now I think you would also agree that the
military needs all the help they can get. Besides, education in
this country, especially in the south is a lost cause. Teachers
do need adequate pay. The problem is the discrepancies in the
appropriation of money - I'm finding that it has absolutely
nothing to do with how "broke" a district is. Really, is a
district suffering from a budget deficit when the teachers' pay
is cut but the super and the other admin are given pay raises?
It's all about how education has become a huge bureacracy and
how it knows that it can bully teachers. The kids have become
an afterthought. Maybe the government has the right idea. Give
the military more money, because the kids are going to have to
join up anyway because there are fewer opportunities for them to
actually learn in the classroom, and there aren't any jobs for
them when (or if) they actually graduate.
