I agree. The "standards based classroom" is the biggest dog
and pony show that I have ever seen in my 20 years in
education. I actually like the new standards, but the
decorating the room stuff is for the birds. If I thought it
would actually help the students, I wouldn't mind. The
pendulum can't swing back soon enough for me. I predict this
will become one of those education jokes in a few years. For
example: "Remember when we had our walls plastered with
standards and essential questions?" HA HA.
