Re: Tired of the Standards Based Classroom

Nothing will change in Georgia...this crap will go on for
ever...unless the public elects the right people to the school board.
Then the school board can hire the right superintendent and then the
right superintendent can hire the right principals.
The problem is not at the bottom but at the top.
In this country standards are a dog and pony show...unlike in other
countries like japan...where they stick with one research based
school reform movement for 20 years and tweak it to make it work
better. Unlike specially in Georgia..........where these spoiled brat
principals and administrations go to fancy workshops and learn some
buzzwords and then come back and to shove it down the teachers throats.
Superintendents, Principals and administrators have too much job
security in Georgia....perhaps if their jobs were so secure...things
would be better.
