I thought it was only my county that made us write essential questions
and standards all over the place. My county also likes to print and
reprint posters with "standards and expectations" that must be posted
in the classroom, yet there is no money for anything else. I believe
in having standards, but it's not the children's job to memorize
them. We are always under the threat of "the county" coming to see
our school at any moment just to see our rooms looking a certain way.
We deal with more red tape in GA than I ever saw working in the
corporate world.
