If I'm under contract now 8/15/14 as a teacher, but I am offered a promotional position out of the classroom with the next few weeks, (with the GA Dept of Education or another school system as an administrator), am I able to break my contract without penalty?
Former Teacher It would depend on your district. You will need to speak with Human Resources and find out its policy. Most districts will release you from your contract for a promotion, although none will advertise this fact. The process will go more smoothly if the district is able to secure a replacement for your current position.

Lippett. Does promotional mean that you are making more money and working more days? Also, does the promotion have. To be with the DOE or another school system? Can the promotion be with a company?
