I'm a certified special ed teacher in Texas and am looking to move to GA this summer. I believe my certifications are eligible for reprocity but can't get anyone to answer the phone at GADOE to answer questions. I am current in EC- 6 Generalist, EC-12 SPED, ESL, and a few other older "LIFE" certifications. I am considered HQ in Texas. I'm hoping to land in the North Metro area around Woodstock and would really appreciate any advice for making the move. I will probably see about a 10K pay cut and of course that old state income tax will be in effect as well. I don't want to start with subbing but will if I can't land a position. How do the districts serve the AU population in GA? That's where my most recent experience and expertise is...working with lower functioning students on the spectrum, dealing with functional communication and of course, behavior. I presently teach 5th and 6th grade students.

Thank you in advance! C
