Does anyone have a positive experience with the Teacher forgiveness loan? I plan to pursue an Ed.D., so the info would be extremely valuable for me. Please advise.

Under which plan? I've seen several - like the one for teaching at a title 1 school for 5 years. This year, I've been at a title one school for 4 years, so I'm banking on that one, but I haven't done too much research yet.

KVW So, these are two different things:

1) An "immediate" forgiveness is available for teachers at high risk schools or highly certified in high need areas (special education, math, etc). There is a one time payout of $5,000 on your loans for high risk teachers (5 years at title one) and there is a 17,500 for the high need areas. ...See More
