Re: My "haole" daughter teaches in Hawaii....

    ...and loves it. She teaches at Nanakuli High School which has
    virtually no haoles at all, but my daughter has experienced
    nothing but respect from students and staff. I visited for a
    day in October and found the same to be true. Like anyone,
    the locals do not appreciate being put down or being treated
    rudely. But when you respect them, they give it back in
    spades!
