You are the one with the headaches!

Well then what exactly is it that gives you a headache??
It you have the desire to be a teacher.... you would go through the
motions required by the district you are applying to teach for.

    > I'm not a woman who is teaching for a hobby while my husband brings
home the money and health insurance. Teaching for me is a serious
    > profession.
Keep pluggin away and keep your chin up... I am sure once you interview,
they will see your true heart... and they will be happy to hire you...
if not... then "who needs them anyway?! :-)

I only ask to be treated fairly--not for my sake, but for
    > the students' sake-
the more b.s. you throw at aspiring teachers, the

I kinda think the opposite. If people cant give some time to plug in
some info to a database... then they don't want it bad enough.

    Online personality exams are not
    > going to produce good teachers.

No but it weeds out the ones with ZERO personality!! He he he
The online apps that I used had, I believe, were 3-5 essay type
questions... and they look for key words... something that strikes them
right... makes them say "hmmm... I think I will contact them!"

    >If administrators and HR people need
    >custom databases to do their job, they need to find another line of
    >work.

Yeah... it does make it easier for them. Maybe they are looking for
someone who is bilingual.... someone with a certain experience.... a
minority who may be able to reach parents in a different way....

When there are SOOOO many applicants... its just an easier way to
collect info. Like I said... its not just people sitting around reading
the computer screen... its a database to get further info about people
who have contacted admin. via coverletter/resume thru snailmail or phone
call. The admin. that I interviewed with and that I have worked with,
do NOT look at that database until someone contacts them and they want
more info... OR... if they are desperate... (havent been yet!)

The online applications that I have used can be used for the ENTIRE
COUNTY. Once filed out... you click what jobs you want to apply your
info to... and you dont have to fill out the pages again... nor
paperwork. I was grateful to have it so easy. It was a breeze.
