    Hi,
If you are looking for fun things for children in and around
    Chicago and southern suburbs.

    Chicago
Field Museum - Dinosaurs, mummies, check out their website. They
do have free admission days too I think it the third Monday of
    the month check website.

Childrens Museum Navy Pier - Great Place to visit - lots of
hands on experiences. Check their Web site.

    Peggy Notabart Museum
This was a fun trip I only did it once. When I took my students
we were just finishing up a unit on the environment and how
precious it is - they had the butterfly exhibit open and it was
great. I do know they do have a website too. Check it our for
    current events.

Childrens Farm in Palos --- Illinois I believe they have a web
    site now
it is located around 13500 Southwest Hwy in Palos Illinois. They
have tours of the farm explaining farm life to children, a
petting zoo, hay ride pulled by a tractor. I have been there
with my own children when they were little and I taken
classrooms of fourth & fifth graders there. Children have alway
enjoyed it especially when the weather cooperated.
There is a McDonalds @ 110th & Southwest Hwy that I always call
ahead and have their Happy meals waiting - suggestion order
them all plain it is real easy to add ketchup - rather than
subtract it for preschoolers - chicken nuggets keep it easy for
you and the staff @ McDonalds Everyone will be happy to do this
    trip again.

Little Red School House - Palos ---- Illinois This is an out
door enviornmental observation and learning place for ALL ages.
It is an old one room school house that has been converted into
a learning center. They do have tour guides for the out doors
but it must be scheduled in advance - I do not know if they have
a web site you may want to google it.

I hope this will be helpful.
    Enjoy
Please let me know how things go.

    Dianne Fiedler
