I used to be an unemployment agent in another state. The
general info is the same, though the particulars might be a bit
different in IL.
So, basically every employer pays SUTA (State Umeployment
TAxes) on the wages they pay. If they don't have anyone, or
very few people, on unemployment, then they pay very minimal
taxes. The tax rate goes up as they get more people
collecting. This is why employers challenge some who try to
collect.

You will NOT be eligible for unemployment. You are welcome to
apply, but you will be found to be ineligible. You have what
is called: "Reasonable Right of Return." Basically, this is
special status for teachers who are rehired to return in the fall.
Now, you might apply, because if your school doesn't protest,
then you may get unemployment. However, you really aren't
eligible.
good luck!
