For CPS vacancies, go to
https://www.cps-humanresources.org/Hronline/logon/ProspEmpLogon.asp.
Once you are logged in, you can search by school, area, and
specialty. The vacancies list will only show the school names
and that they have a vacancy; call up the schools that you're
interested in and ask if the vacancy still exists, and if so,
who to send your resume to. Keep in mind that there is no
central hiring unit for CPS; hiring is done by the individual
schools, so your best bet is to directly get in contact with
the schools.
There is also a vacancy bulletin put out every week by CPS that
lists jobs in all areas, not just teaching. You can find that
on the HR site.
For districts outside the city, go to that district's website
and fill out the on-line application. The applications are
very time-consuming. Unfortunately, that's the only way to
apply for a job in most suburban districts. Since most of the
applications are similar, you can probably keep a bank of items
that you can just cut and paste (like job experience, personal
statement, etc) that might make the process a little quicker.
