I truly feel bad for you. If it's a long-term subbing situation (a
week or more), a certified teacher (preferably one with endorsements
in that area) should be hired if available. No doubt. But, as in my
case, classroom management (and I'm not saying yours are lacking) is
almost more important than the teaching. I have two nightmare classes
(same kids - different subjects) where I just want control. Those are
my worksheet classes. But, even for a sub, they are horrible. The
retired military guy just has a special rapport with them - more than
with me even. OH, and a HUGE, BOOMING voice. I hope you find a job,
because you sound like a competent (albeit frustrated) teacher. Karen
