Right now there are a million elementary teachers... most
districts have over 100 applicants for every elementary job.
Unless you are willing to do spec ed and possibly get a
masters in it...its really hard to get hired in an
elementary job. If you live near a border state like WV its
easier to find a job there. I was orginally elementary
certified and went on to add secondary cert...( i had a BA
in bio to) I was hired within two weeks of doing so. From
what i've seen since i graduated it isnt getting much better
for elementary teachers.
