I am moving to Baton Rouge next month and hoping to start teaching 2010. I'd like to get my credentials/certificates in order well in advance. I have a postgraduate certificate in education from the UK. I should be OK (I think!) as the PGCE gives me Qualified Teacher Status. It's also from Middle States accredited institution. I realize I'll still have to go through the whole foreign credential evaluation thing with the DoE, but I wondered if any of you are UK qualified teachers in La.,and if so, what kind of hurdles you came across, if any. Thanks.
