Re: Walden University
Posted by OP on 4/19/08

    HI folks,
I see this topic is still one that still evokes some strong
    feelings from both sides.

I'm wondering, though...if anyone can answer my question.

Is there anyone here in MA who has earned a Masters from Walden
and the DOE has accepted it towards professional certification?

I'd like to add, that though I've decided against the program at
Walden, a colleague of mine is taking a prof. dev. course through
Cantor, which is affiliated with Walden, and he absolutely raves
about it. He is thoroughly enjoying the course and gaining a
great deal of practical knowledge. I confess I'm somewhat envious
as I attend my course at the brick and mortar school, jumping
through hoops and tangling with the red tape, learning new things -
yes, but information that I can use in the classroom - not
necessarily. That was what I was drawn to at Walden. All of the
courses in the program seemed highly relevant to what I'm doing
now. Clearly there are pros and cons for both scenarios.
