    Hi Mrs. D and Mrs. R. I don't know how I missed that one! We will
    never receive the respect we deserve as educational professionals
    until this kind of nonsense stops! Why not waive the requirements
    for physicians, bridge engineers, lawyers, pilots. etc. Aren't the
    lives and futures of our children that important?

    I don't even get the purpose here. My city is laying off teachers
    this year. It is not difficult to find certified teachers who
    have passed the tests. If we have high expectations, we will get
    the most qualified teachers.

    Thanks for alerting me to that little fiasco in the making. Leave
    it to the politicians! Ms. S.
