Re: What is the ELL MTEL all about?
Posted by Jennifer Dines on 5/10/08

The ELL MTEL is required to become licensed as a teacher of English Language Learners. The test covers linguistics and ELL strategies for learning English and also for learning in the content area. It is meant for teachers who want to become certified as ELL teachers, whether they are native or non-native speakers of English. (I'm a native English speaker and ELL teacher) On 5/05/08, Sally wrote: > I was a Spanish major in college. I speak it well but there is no way I will ever pass the Spanish MTEL. Should I switch to ELL? Is the ELL MTEL meant for teachers whose 1st language is not English?
