Re: appealing the mtel results

I know how you feel. My husband has taken the writing test 7
times, each time coming closer, but still not passing it.
Last time he was 2 points away. I am getting sick and tired
of this test, it is ruining our lives. My husband works with
mental handicap people and wants to be a special ed teacher.
He would be a very good teacher, but because of this test he
can't get a license so he is struck in dead end jobs
babysitting handicap people. He feels horrible because he
can't use any of his skills or brain after doing so well in
school. My husband has a disability with his motor skills so
he has very bad handwriting so I think that is the reason why
he isn't passing the writing test. Because his handwriting
is so bad it looks like he is misspelling words when really
he is not. I don't know how this state can have a test that
can control a person's life and future. How can someone who
would have got 2 more points on a test be a better teacher
then someone else. That doesn't make sense. Where I am from
you only need to go to get into teacher's college to be a
teacher. I think MA should do the same.
