I can see why that's being done. Not all teachers are given
equal access to teaching an AP course. It would not be fair to
the those teacher who are "stuck" teaching the lower level
classes. In my experience, the upper echelon students taking
the AP courses need much less intervention and guidance than
the lower-level students. Getting a bonus for being the lucky
teacher to pull an AP course in the schedule doesn't seem very
equitable.
