Linda -
The salary range varies from School Department to
Department. I teach High School in Old Town, Maine and the
pay scale says...
2001-2002 (Currently Negotiating for this year)
Starting Pay is $24,000, I'm new so not sure what the steps
mean, but a step 5 is 28, 414.
I recently retired from the military and started up the JROTC
program at the High School.
The max at step 18 is $44,950.
There are positions all over the place...however...just so
you come in with eyes open...Maine is going through a buget
crunch...not sure how that will impact on future hiring...
Maine! The way life should be!
Hope this helps.
