Hi!
I am currently living in Florida and completing a dual track
program at the University of South Florida. Upon completion
I will have my MA, initial elementary education
certification, and an ESOL endorsement. My BA is in
communications, so teaching will be a career change for me.
I am considering moving to Maine when I am done with my
master's degree since FL is just not for me. I am curious to
learn what the job market is like for teachers in the
Portland area. As far as other relocation advice goes, I am
originally from a small town in NJ, so I am accustomed to
the cold and snow, I would just like to know what to expect
in terms of lifestyle, teacher's benefits, and cost of
living. I am planning on moving back up north in
approximately two years and hopefully the economic situation
will be starting to improve at that point. Thanks in advance
for any info!
Lorri
