Born and raised in the Midwest, still own the family farm. Taught there for twenty+ years, Teamster. 20 year NEA union rep, so yes, I can compare. I never said one derogatory thing about Michigan, and I definitely don't pretend to be an expert on the subject. I hope the previous poster will do likewise. If you want, I'll be glad to actually compare the job outlook/economy/state of education of the two states, but I can see that you are excited about a duty free lunch for the teachers that still have a job, so I won't ruin your day. Funny thing is, I don't see a lot of people moving back to Michigan from Georgia. Hmmmmmm.
