Re: Your sterotypes make you look very small!
Posted by goldy on 3/13/08

To the guy in the 4200 square foot house: I agree with you that we can not
expect everything now. WE have to save. I buy my clothes at the thirft store,
don't vacation, and clip coupons. I DO NOT LIVE FOR TODAY LIKE SO MAY IN MY
AGE GROUP (i AM 32)Therefore, I bought a car in cash, have savings, and am
paying extra on my house. I did this along with my husband who makes about
what a first year teacher does (but he works in the automotive design field).
I never got a job teaching. It was easier to get a job teaching when you
graduated. SAving is not an issue if you can't even find a job teaching or at
all. The cost of living has gone up. Look at gas prices. "real" disposable
income is a fraction of what it used to be. Stop preaching. YOu have a point
but pardon teachers for not wanting to make so little money that a car needing
to be fixed puts them into debt. I have read numorous books on economics so
don't hink I am pulling this idea out of the sky.
