Re: Another Perspective

Which teachers do you remember most, the ones who taught you well or the ones who taught you well but inspired you, made sense of the world to you and showed you that there is more to life than what goes on inside the classroom walls? Of course teacher deserve more pay and better benefits. DUH. We work our buts off but so do janitors and so do Wall Street Brokers and so do police officers. You are wishing that teachers got paid what they deserve, yeah will i wish that everyday too but I don't dwell on it and complain about it and try to bring everyone down about it. Teaching is a GREAT profession, no matter what we are paid. What's more important about teaching is who the principal is and the school climate and culture. That's what makes or breaks teaching, not the pay. If you want mre money, then get a different job. At least that way I won't have to listen to all the comlaining, I'm sorry, but you are not going to get a significant pay raise anytime soon. We are public workers, like police offices. We push paper and all that beauracratic stuff but at the end of the day we aren't doing this job for that and we aren't doing it for the money. I agree you can advocate for more pay and working conditions but no ones listens to people who complain like they deserve more oney just because they are a teacher.
