Re: Resumes
Posted by mandy on 4/14/08

According to what I was taught in courses during my education
degree, 1 page is not enough for a teacher's resume (although
that's usually standard for other lines of work). It should
be 2-3 pages. 3 seems a bit much for me, so I've managed to
squeeze mine onto 2. I personally don't really see how you
could highlight your teaching accomplishments and everything
    on one page!

However, that being said, if you are applying to this
district and have heard they prefer one page, go with one
    page.

From what I've heard over the years (4+ years searching for a
teaching job) some administrators can be very picky. A
fellow job searcher I know actually had their resume packet
HANDED BACK to them at a mock interview BECAUSE IT WAS PAPER
CLIPPED TOGETHER. They had been told by their university
supervisor to paper clip everything like transcripts,
evaluations, etc. to the resume, then were berated (in from
of their student teaching group) by an area administrator
    because of it.

Personally, I think administators like this are TOO picky,
but they can get away with it cuz they have 1000s of resumes
    to choose from.
