    "Resume Help!...1 pg or 2?"

I used to be in the business field (management) and have
since switched to being a teacher. I can tell you that the
two standards ARE different. Don't confuse teaching resume
    standards with business resume standards.

In business, the standard is one page although two pages are
possible, though not common (but many just toss the 2 pagers-
    -like you heard)

In education, two pages is the standard, though one page is
possible. NEVER more than 2 pages, but it is usually
thought that a one page looks as if you are inexperienced.
Also, teaching resumes should list the things that are
pertinent to teaching only, unless you have no other
experience to put down. (i.e. Even if your last job was at
the Gap, you should not put it down; use volunteer
experience with children, student teaching, teaching
    experience, etc.)

An exception can be made if you have some leadership
experience. If you were a manager at the Gap, you could put
it under "leadership experience" instead of work. Then it
shows some skill applicible to classroom management and
    organization.

In fact, in a teaching resume, the heading is often listed
as "field experience" rather than "work experience" because
they really want only pertinent teaching experience.

Another difference is that on a business resume, work
experience often comes first (or second to education if work
experience is not strong). In an education resume,
education usually always comes first. Certification and
endorsements often comes next, followed then by field
    experience and finally the rest.
