SpecEd Teacher, I think you hit the nail on the head. I definitely am getting certified in what I love and even now there is no way that I would consider spec ed, math, or science. So I guess I am in that boat. However, I can honestly say that no one at my college, Oakland University, told me a thing. I doubt it would've mattered. I just pray that through divine intervention that I am the exception & not the rule; meaning I will find a fulfilling job in MI.
