Huh? I would be less outraged at a story about Nazi unicorns
flying in from China. Teacher shortage? In Michigan? Wha...?

OK, a lot of people don't know how bad it is, but I thought
this teacher "shortage" crap was put to bed a long time ago.
Its one thing to have a misinformed editorial piece, but this
is garbage coming from the Dept. of Ed about speeding up
programs.

Math and Special Education are the traditional "shortage" areas
and my experience on the special ed side is that there are many
dozens of applications for each job. Maybe a hundred. That's
a lot better than the thousands for most other teaching jobs,
but certainly no shortage!
