Many districts won't consider folks with advanced degrees,
because they cost more. With the glut of applicants, it makes
financial sense to look at folks with BAs.
Having said that, there are special ed positions that require a
Masters. To be a teacher consultant, you are supposed to have
a Masters (but they will waive that requirement, along with the
requirement of 3 years experience). To be a Speech Language
Pathologist, you do need a Masters.
