Re: Any jobs? Has anyone worked at Ben Ross Academy in Warrn

It is not a selfish sense of entitlement. It's the way it works in
the district I taught in. Plain and simple. And I can't imagine any
of you would have just quit your amazing job and walked away.
Everyone in my shoes would have taken a leave of absence just like
me. It was that security I needed to try something new. And the
teacher who was hired when I left was a sub in the district
beforehand. Had I not left, she may have never been hired. When I
return she will not lose her job. I am sure it will work out that
teachers will retire. I received the transfer list the past two
years, and there were jobs each year. I left MI because my husband
could not get a teaching position in MI, so believe me I know how
hard it is to get a job in MI. I interviewed in almost 10 districts
before I received a job offer in MI. I was simply lucky that the
best district I interviewed in was the one to offer me a job. I
taught there for 6 years, which in the scheme of things isn't that
long, but they take care of you. I am not the only teacher on
leave. Any teacher who is on leave could decide to return next
fall. I guess if all of us decided to come back at the same time, we
may displace a few teachers. However, that is very unlikely to
happen. I still can't imagine all of you wouldn't have done the very
same thing.
