Post: Unique case - out of state teacher licensure

Posted by Laura Lund on 4/28/08

    I received a MN teacher's license in Dec/1999. I moved to
Texas shortly after and began teaching in Texas in 2001.
I took the necessary test (TeXES -similar to the Praxis)
and did all my continuing education hours to fulfill the
Texas state requirements. I even took a level 2 Praxis-
type test in a specific subject area. I'm currently
wanting to move back to MN and have applied at schools.
My MN license, of course, expired in 2006. What will I
have to do to get my MN license current. Will my test and
hours in Texas be able to transfer???? Will I be given a
provisional time period? Will I be able to teach in MN?

    Thanks for any input!
