Re: What did everyone think of the MCT2 test?
Posted by girl in gulfport on 5/12/07

We did it last Thursday. All I can say is teachers really need
to be familiar with the new frameworks and really look at all
the sample items available. There is alot more higher thinking
from what I could tell. I didn't really look at the questions
except when a student asked me a question, but it seems to me
that teachers are going to have to move away from teaching the
test to teaching using literature that makes them think. They
are also going to have to make students can answer the "why"
behind what they do, and they are going to need to do alot of
writing to develop those higher level thinking skills. It will
be interesting to see how the levels work out next year. There
are going to be some Level 5's dropping for sure!
