Hello,

So, is there anyone out there who teaches in Montana and
loves it? My husband is looking for a teaching job in
Montana right now and I am wondering if we should even
bother. All I have heard or read is how the pay is low and
it is tough to pay the bills. Maybe we should try another
state. Is it really as bad as I have heard?

Thanks,
Jen

You hit the nail on the head!

Give me a break! Montana is not the worst paying state for teachers. There are others lower. What is with your comment that if you have kids, they'll end up being juvenile delinquents. I take great offense to that comment. I for one, love teaching and living in Montana. I wouldn't go anywhere else. And no, my children are NOT juvenile delinquents.

It took you how many months to respond to the post? Were you busy trying to bail your students out of jail on your minimum wage salary?

Teacher Dude I think MT is the BEST place to teach. Living expenses totally depends on which part of the state you live in. Come to northeastern MT. Houses are very reasonably priced and you can easily make a payment with teacher's wages. Also, when you are comparing wages, please be sure and investigate total required working days. As a rule, most MT schools s...See More

teach I so agree you should all find another state to teach in. Your opinions sure wouldn't mesh with people in Montana. You will be happier somewhere else for sure.
