Re: How do us northerners obtain a job in NC?

I understand the OP question. In my home state of PA job
interviewing is high stakes. I had to teach a demonstration
lesson once, complete an essay once, etc. Many schools in PA
will not even consider you if your GPS is not at least 3.80 or
higher. (Too many applicants for few jobs). I got my job in
NC by stopping at the school and asking if they were hiring.
The principal interviewed me and offered me the job within five
minutes. (I had submitted all the required paper work to the
county prior to coming down here). My daughter was hired over
the phone. She had mentioned that her mother taught in the
district and the principal called me in my classroom saying
that he was having trouble getting in touch with her. I told
him that she would be available for intervies during such and
such a week. He said he would hire her over the phone if she
would get in touch with him.
