Re: You know what's really sad about all of this?
Posted by Stressed to the MAX. on 9/30/08

I am currently in my second year of teaching. I have also relocated to
NC from the North. My school is not in School Improvement, however
many, I would say the majority of the teachers (new and old) are
stressed to the max... ready to walk away from teaching. We have
many "new" things going on within our school. Which means more NON-
TEACHING time throughout our days. We all feel as if there is no
support from the top... just demands! "You will do this then you will
    do that...."

Today I broke... I come home every night (after being at school for at
least 10 hours) with a headache and a list of things I need to do, such
as PEP's, the new Writing "professional development"online 20 hour
class, and many other NON-TEACHING duties. I didn't know I went to
college to do college busy work/classes for the rest of my life as a
teacher. I am thinking this is not the career I signed up for. I also
was hoping it was JUST my county. I guess it's time to recheck our
    futures!!!
