Re: Writing Moodle

Our school requires participation from all grades (K-8).
The training seems pretty good, covers key elements of best pratices in
writing instruction. I think this training includes good resources and
activities. I just completed the Capital Area Writing Projet Fellowship at
NCSU this summer, and this has many elements we covered, only the Moodle is
much less rigorous.
Here's the thing that bugs me. I teach 4th grade - all subjects. The
training seems more directed towards teachers who teach content areas other
than reading and writing (which is good, all teachers should include some
writing instruction specific to their field). But there is no flexibility
in the training allowing for teachers who teach writing or do not have
teams to collaborate with.
Also, I'm finding the lesson presentation disjointed and vague. If I hadn't
just completed the CAWP training, or didn't have a keen interest in writing
instruction, I think I'd be lost.

One seems to be designed to help non-Language Arts teachers think about
ways to introduce writing activities into their classrooms.
