Post: Assigned a duty on a Saturday

I've been assigned to supervise a part of our school
building for 2 back to back sports events that are
scheduled on a Saturday. I am expected to be at the school
from 2 p.m to 7:30 p.m. "or so" that day. I told the prince
that I am not available on weekends to supervise sporting
events. He said I have to switch days with another teacher.
Why is this my problem? Can we be assigned duties on
weekends?
