Re: Assigned a duty on a Saturday

Weekends? I can't see how the weekend is an extension of the
school day! Frankly, I can't even believe we are needing to
have this conversation. I have consulted a lawyer about this
recently, and she told me the practice of unpaid duties, the
vague 'other duties as assigned' AFTER the school day is
TOTALLY AND UTTERLY ILLEGAL. Let me repeat: ILLEGAL. The
practice will continue, however, until it is formally
challenged in court. What is required is someone who is being
subjected to this to have the considerable courage required to
take this to court and set a precedent... This is advice from
a lawyer with over 20 years' experience of labor law in NC.
