1. Contact legislators who write education law.
2. Contact state school board members and express your opinion.
3. Contact your association ( NCAE or PENC) and express your
opinion and ask them to make it priority.
Outside of that, I don't know what else can be done. As I have
stated in the past, I really feel for people entering the
profession at this time. It saddens me that I have enjoyed a
wonderful career and still get excited each new year to enter the
classroom and do what I do. Yet, it will be easy for me to retire
when that time comes - and it will probably come sooner than I had
expected.... by my choice.I'm weary of the foolish dicta.
I am not fearful of kaizen ( change for the good) - I embrace it.
But I have tired of the dog and pony edicts that seem to be
increasing. I'm tired grasping at straws out of desperation. I'm
tired of social engineering.
